Arrangement of access roads and platforms for certain well works is an important component of successful project implementation. Technology makes progress and the arrangement of roads and platforms for heavy machinery now looks different.

DC Horyzonty recently used terratrak plus® composite plates for the first time at its drilling site. The works were carried out at the well 2, Pidhirtsi. The drilling area covers about 1 hectare. The RIG 804 machine of the QD 1600 HP brand with a loading capacity of 350 tons is mounted in this territory.

The company notes positive first impressions from the use of composite plates. The strength of the structures has already been tested by a 40-ton crane.

It is worth noting that this is one of the first successful examples of the use of composite plates at drilling sites in Ukraine.

Ruslan Zorya, Business Development Manager, tells about the main characteristics of the composite plates:

“Today, together with DC Horyzonty, we completed the installation of terratrak plus® composite plates. This is the first such project in Ukraine, when composite plates are used at the drilling site.  Composite plates are made in the UK. Before delivery, composite plates are assembled into one large panel, forming a size of 2.2 X 1.1 meters, a total of 2.42 square meters. Each panel weighs 46 kg, so 2 people can easily work with it. No crane or special equipment is required. Another advantage is transportation savings. One truck holds 1,000 composite plates, or 1,210 square meters. The allowable load is 790 tons per square meter."
