In an interview with the Rating publication, CEO of Geo-Alliance Lyudmila Kuchmenko noted that the Ukrainian gas industry needs stable and transparent working conditions. This relates to both cooperation under PSA contracts and the conditions for the production of hard-to-recover hydrocarbons. She also said that in the face of complex geology and constant changes in taxation in the country we need to fight for every single investor and make a bet on small and medium-sized investors who are ready to work with small deposits.

In general, Ukrainian gas producers are quite optimistic and are not going to scrap exploration and drilling programs, as they already have experience in overcoming crisis periods.
So, during his speech at the Ukrainian Energy Forum 2020, Stepan Kozitskiy shared the plans of the Zakhidnadraservis group of companies. In particular, production is expected to be increased to 1 MMCM per day by 2022. Moreover, the company plans to discover a large field in Western Ukraine. This objective is based on the company's own data and the understanding that no deep deposit studies have been conducted.
DTEK Neftegaz, being a private company, also has large-scale development plans.
Igor Shchurov, CEO of DTEK Neftegaz, announced the company's new goal for the next five years - to go from 1.6 to 2 BCM of gas in two years and reach 5 BCM in five years.
According to Ivan Gafich, director of exploration and prospective development at DTEK Neftegaz, the company will master new great depths under existing productive horizons. Let us recall that at the moment the company's deepest well is 6,650 meters.
Miron Firman, Director of Geology at Ukrgasvydobuvannya, spoke about the impact of the development of the company's resource base on production volumes. He noted that the company is ready to discover six fields a year, and only an increase in reserves will allow increasing production rates.
UGV also aims to reach greater depths of drilling. Miron Firman noted that the wide-azimuth 3D seismic will be massively introduced at UGV’s fields, while annual volumes will increase to 2,000 square kilometers per year. Ukrgasvydobuvannya planned to drill more than 10 deep wells in 2020. Already this week, 250,000 cubic meters of gas per day were received from one of these wells, at the Berezovskoe field in the Kharkiv region. The depth of the exploratory well is 6,100 m.
