Kyiv.The Ukrainian company PJSC Chemproject won the tender that was held by the Estonian company OÜ Derivaat NH3 for the green ammonia project engineering.This is the world's first innovative project for SOEC solid oxide electrolysis integration into the ammonia production process flow diagram.The project is being implemented in the port of Paldiski, Estonia.The productivity is 22.5 thousand tons/year of green ammonia.4 thousand tons of green hydrogen will be produced per yearfor this purpose.The start-up of the plant is scheduled for 2026.The technology for the green ammoniaproduction was developed by the company "CHTK" LLC - Chemical Technology Company.The design and preparation for construction are carried out using advanced IT tools in the field of construction management - the CLS (Construction Logistics Software) system.The BIM model of the unit was created andthe preliminary budget and target construction schedule for the project were formed.The work with equipment manufacturers and suppliers is ongoing, the scope of contractors construction and installation work has been determined using CLS system tools.
The head of LLC “CHTC” Leonid Rodinsaid:In this project, we used our many years of experience in the traditional ammonia production development and design, and developed innovative solutions for the combined diagram of ammonia synthesis and hydrogen production by solid oxide electrolysis SOEC.The result was maximum energy efficiency and 100% carbon-free ammonia production.
The head of PJSC Chemprojec tOleksand Karashchuksaid: We created a complete virtual model of plant construction using the CLS system.This makes it possible to put under control all technical solutions, design documentation, material and financial flows of construction.We are sure that the green ammonia plant in Paldiski will be implemented within the established time limit and in full.
The Management MemberOÜ Derivaat NH3 Erik Laidveesaid: Our project is an important step in the green energy development and contributes to strengthening relations between Ukraine and Estonia.Importantly, we have created new opportunities for green ammonia technology innovation and sustainable development through our patent application and application to the European Union Innovation Fund.The agreement will come into force after we notify PJSC Chemproject that financing for the plant has been secured and/or the supervisory board confirms the financial closure of the plant construction project.
